The Love Song and Lola Lennox
Lola Lennox, singer-songwriter and musician, picks the Tracks of My Years. Ken has another round of the PopMaster music quiz and your dedications with today's love song.
Lola Lennox, singer-songwriter and musician, picks the Tracks of My Years. Music has been in London-born Lola's blood for as long as she can remember. She has played the piano and sung since she was seven, written songs from the age of fifteen and earned a place at the Royal Academy of Music. 2019 saw her duet with her mother, Annie Lennox, for their much talked about performance of 'There Must Be An Angel' for Global Citizen One World: Together At Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ' to an audience of over 270 million viewers. That same year she collaborated with Goldfrapp's Will Gregory on the soundtrack for the 'Serengeti' docu-series which aired in over 35 countries around the world.
Following her critically acclaimed singles 'Wherever You Go', 'Back At Wrong' and 'La La Love Me', last month Lola released her brand new single 'Love Like That', which was co-produced by her Mum.
In April of this year Lola gave a spectacular performance from her home in Los Angeles for a special Radio 2 House Music Session alongside the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra. It included an exdusive orchestral version of 'Wherever You Go' featuring the one and only Annie Lennox on backing vocals, and the video of the performance has gone on to be the most viewed in Radio 2 House Music history. That performance, plus those of many other musical superstars can still be viewed on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Music Youtube Channel.
Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
