Jamie has live music this week from the trailblazing UK quartet Sons of Kemet, with a pair of incredible tracks from their latest album, Black to the Future!
Led by saxophonist and jazz philosopher Shabaka Hutchings, Sons of Kemet鈥檚 unique sound鈥攂uilt on an unconventional lineup of Shabaka on woodwinds, Theon Cross on tuba and both Eddie Wakili-Hick and Tom Skinner on drums鈥攈as seen them pick up MOBO awards, Mercury Prize nominations and heaps of critical acclaim over the past decade.
Their fourth album, Black to the Future, was released on Impulse! earlier this year鈥攕o to celebrate, the band were in session at the 麻豆约拍鈥檚 Maida Vale studios to record an instrumental take of their recent single Hustle and, exclusively for the show, a version of the powerful album track In Remembrance Of Those Fallen
