16/06/21 Climate Change Committee report, Australian farmers welcome the trade deal, wetlands creation

A new report says the Government is not adapting fast enough to the risks from climate change.

A new report by the Climate Change Committee shows that the gap between the level of risk from climate change and the level of adaptation to those risks, has widened, and that although the UK has the capacity and the resources to respond to the risks, it hasn’t done so.
The first outline trade deal with Australia in 50 years has been agreed. The Government has tried to reassure UK farmers it will benefit them, and will not allow imports of lower standard cheap food. The National Farmers Union says it’s not clear whether any safeguards are sufficient, or whether they can be deployed effectively. We hear how Australian farmers view the deal.
A charity group in Wiltshire is creating wetlands that'll capture and filter water before it enters the river system.
