Smuggling
Comedy anthology series. This week our storytellers share tales about smuggling including border-guard-bribery, trouble at the train station and a pair of buttery knickers.
To mark 100 years of Northern Ireland, Sean, Margaret, Ryan and Orla meet each week to share tales and myths about the border, and they never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
This week, we hear about how smuggling was an essential part of border life.
Sean tells a story about a clumsy customs man searching people at the train station. Stefan tells us about a tense night when a couple had to smuggle suspicious items into the Republic, and Margaret shares a cautionary tale about a mother and daughter who took big risks to sneak ingredients for a wedding cake across the border.
This One Time On The Border was written by Michael Patrick and OisΓn Kearney. This episode stars Frankie McCafferty, Emer Casey, Stefan Dunbar, Aoibheann McCann, Micky Bartlett and Oliver Callan. It was produced by Marc McElroy.
