Whigfield, Lisa Loeb and It Bites

The best One Hit Wonders and the stories behind them, this week with Whigfield talking about ‘Saturday Night’.

OJ plays the best One Hit Wonders from the 80s, 90s and 00s.

This week with Whigfield telling him all about ‘Saturday Night’.

It was a number 1 in the UK in September 1994.

Now Whigfield did have other top 10 hits, but because ‘Saturday Night’ was so massive and so well known above everything else, it qualifies for the show!

She tells OJ that she didn’t come up with the famous dance, and has actually only ever done it once!

She also tells the story of how her appearance presenting Top Of The Pops led to lots of complaints, because of her outfit!

Sannie Carlson, best known as Whigfield, is a Danish singer.

In 1994 she gained a place in the Guinness Book of Records with the song ‘Saturday Night’, which was a number one in the UK.
