Ed Dowie
Singer and songwriter Ed Dowie chats to Mark about his latest album
Mark Radcliffe presents solo, with a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast
Today Mark is joined by singer and songwriter Ed Dowie. Ed’s latest album β€The Obvious I’ is one of Mark’s favourite new albums of the year so far. It’s Ed’s second album and follows his 2017 debut β€The Uncle Sold.’ As a child Ed was a chorister in Dorset, and he went on to study music at De Montford University in Leicester. On his new album, Ed adhered to Kraftwork’s maxim about achieving the maximum emotional impact with the most minimal means. He says he wanted to make something that reflects the β€turbulence of the period without adding to it.β€
Also on the show… catch up on the best music and entertainment stories of the past week in β€This Week In Music’.
Plus... regular features 'The Chain' - our world-famous list of over 8000 interconnected songs - and 'Sampled Underfoot' which explores the samples used in some of our favourite tracks.
With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
