This week, the great guitarist and singer Martin Carthy talks about his life in music, as he turns 80.
Through his solo work, as well as adventures with Dave Swarbrick, The Watersons, Steeleye Span, Brass Monkey, Waterson:Carthy, The Imagined Village and The Gift Band, Martin has - for much of his career - been a pioneer in traditional music. Even Bob Dylan and Paul Simon owe some thanks to the influence of Martin Carthy.
