Matt Lucas sits in for Zoe Ball and chats to Jane Horrocks about her new TV drama, and he talks to Tim Henman about his exciting new campaign.

Matt Lucas sits in for Zoe Ball and chats to Jane Horrocks about her new comedy series Bloods. Golden Globe-nominated Jane stars in this six-part comedy series alongside BAFTA-nominated Samson Kayo where they play paramedic partners in the South London ambulance service. When tough-acting loner Maleek is paired with over-friendly divorcee Wendy, their partnership looks dead on arrival but soon their friendship grows. In 1993 she was nominated for the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Actress for the title role in the stage play ‘The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. She also received nominations for the role in the film adaptation at the Golden Globes and the BAFTA's. She’s also appeared in the likes of ‘The Witches', ‘Life is Sweet’, ‘Chicken Run’, ‘Corpse Bride’ and ‘Sunshine on Leith’.

Matt talks to Tim Henman OBE. Tim was British number one in Tennis for seven years, before retiring from the sport in 2007. Tim is now a regular pundit and commentator and most famous for appearing as part of the annual coverage of Wimbledon. Tim explains to Matt about what his foundation are up to over the next six weeks. Tim will be encouraging people to take part in a fun challenge every day in a bid to find something they really enjoy!

Pause For Thought

As I’m sure everyone knows, it’s Star Wars Day – May the 4th, as in ‘may the fourth be with you.’ÌýÌý

There have been many books, articles, sermons and no doubt punch-ups about the theology of Star WarsÌý–Ìýideas about good defeating evil, the human spirit always conquering in the end, the great mystical secrets of how Euan McGregor ever got that part and, of course, the mysterious ‘Force’ that invisibly pervades the universe.ÌýÌýNo, instead of trying to debate these kind of things, I just want to tell you that I once conducted a service in my underwear.ÌýÌýTrue.ÌýÌýI was speaking at a big conference being held in the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow one Easter weekend.ÌýÌýIt wasn't a religious conference but some bright spark suggested, since I was a minister, maybe they should have a wee service on the Sunday.ÌýÌýSo, I walked on to the stage, took off my trousers hung them over the mic stand and lead a short service in my underwear.ÌýÌý

Now I did in fact have bright red long johns on, and a pair of boxer shorts on top.ÌýÌýBut you can imagine the reaction.ÌýÌýAt the end, I put on my trousers and said, now when you go back home and tell your friends that a minister lead an service in his underwear they'll all say, "Aww come on!"ÌýÌýBut just because they can't believe it, it doesn't mean it didn't happen - you saw it!

Like the spirituality in Star Wars – the good triumphing over evil, the Force being with you - some believe, some think itÌýisÌýjust fantasy. But I believe that stuff.ÌýÌýProfoundly.ÌýÌýI can’t prove that good will conquer evil, that light will banish darkness, that love is stronger than hate.ÌýÌýBut I believe it – oh how profoundly I believe it! I’ve bet my life on it.ÌýÌýAnd I have seen the power of love to bring wholeness and hope.ÌýÌýAnd I believe, utterly, that I am held in the gaze of a God who loves me.

Can’t prove it…and it is a bit far-fetched, I know.ÌýÌýBut then, so is a minister taking a service in a pair of long-johns.
