15/04/2021 Liminal Space: A Meditation

A Meditation on liminal space led by the Rev Michaela Youngson.

A spiritual life often leads to a sense of being in between – between the sacred and the secular, the temporal and the eternal; as though standing on a beach between land and ocean and somehow being in both at the same time. The beautiful word, β€˜liminal’ describes these sort of spaces – it carries a sense of standing on a threshold – on one side of the door is everything familiar, a kaleidoscope of memories making up who we are and who we have been. On the other side of the door is a mystery, a future as yet unwritten; it might be a future that we want to step into enthusiastically; or it may be that we are more tentative. Despite our faith in a God who loves us, we are not always confident to take the next step.

Today's Daily Service, led by Methodist minister Rev Michaela Youngson, focusses on the sense of being between, reminded that God draws no distinctions between the past and the future but holds all things together in the divine hands of love.
