Gary Davies sits in with Claire Richards choosing the Tracks of My Years

Claire Richards of Steps picks the Tracks of My Years. Gary's got your love song dedications and there's another round of PopMaster.

Claire Richards, singer songwriter and member of Steps, chooses the Tracks of My Years. The chart-topping five-piece first formed in 1997 consisting of Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian 'H' Watkins. During that time they have released six studio albums, three compilation albums and 23 singles. Their name was initially based on a marketing premise that each of their music videos were to be choreographed and the dance steps included in the sleeve with most of their singles. To date they have produced 14 top 5 singles, 3 number one albums, 20 million record sales and 7 sold out arena tours.

Last month they released a special version of their brand new track 'Heartbreak In This City' - the fourth single taken from their number 2 charting album 'What The Future Holds'. It features Emmy Award winner Michelle Visage best known for being a judge on Rupaul's Drag Race, and for being a 'Strictly' contestant in 2019.

The album went silver within the first month of its release and was the most downloaded album in the UK over the Christmas period. The group will be embarking on their 'What The Future Holds 2021 Tour' in November, headlining 18 arena shows across the UK including two dates at London’s O2 and will be joined by special guest star Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Alongside her work with Steps, Claire has enjoyed a very successful solo career. In 2018 she released her debut solo album 'My Wildest Dreams' which was preceded by the lead single, 'On My Own'. The album reached number 9 in the UK albums chart and at the time she performed two tracks live in the Radio 2 Piano Room, which can still be seen on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Music Youtube Channel.
