Guitarist Ritchie Kotzen picks his Rock God

Guitarist Ritchie Kotzen reveals his Rock God, plus Johnnie celebrates the first recording contract signed by one of America's biggest bands for 'This Week In Rock'.

American guitarist Ritchie Kotzen has more than 20 solo releases to his name. However, he's possibly better known for his collaborations with Poison and Mr Big. He currently fronts The WInery Dogs and has also recorded a new album with Iron Maiden's Adrian Smith. Their self-titled project has just been released.

His chosen Rock God is a multi-instrumentalist who it's fair to say can be a little overlooked in the rock world...so Ritchie will celebrate that guitar-playing prowess on this very show! Elsewhere, there are new releases and classic tracks nestled into Johnnie's weekly hour of rock, plus he's shining a light on the first recording contract for a massive US rock band for 'This Week In Rock'.

Oh and this is the 99th Radio 2 Rock Show! Next week Johnnie hits his century of rock shows, so we hope you will join us to celebrate. If you've got a track to suggest for the 100th show, let Johnnie know at walker@bbc.co.uk
