In March 2020 C2C: Country to Country was one of the first festivals to be cancelled due to COVID 19. Following the cancellation of the 2021 festival which should have happened this weekend, Radio 2 looks back on some of the great London performances from the first 7 years of C2C .
In this two hour programme of highlights Bob Harris remembers some of the best moments from the UK’s biggest Country music festival, with Eric Church's headline set from 2016 including hits like "Springsteen", "Mr Misunderstood" and "Drink In My Hand" alongside main stage music from Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, and Thomas Rhett, plus intimate backstage performances from Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, Old Dominion, Ashley Campbell, Charles Esten and more!
Radio 2 Celebrates Country!
With the C2C: Country to Country festival postponed for its second year, Radio 2 uses the festival weekend to celebrate more than 40 years of classic country concerts from the Â鶹ԼÅÄ archive, including highlights from past C2C performances.
Radio 2 will also broadcast a brand new, exclusive session recorded last month in Nashville as part of the CMA Songwriters series, featuring performances from some of Country music’s leading contemporary songwriters.
All the concerts for ‘Radio 2 Celebrates Country’, including performances from Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley and Charley Pride, will be available for 30 days on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Sounds
