PopMaster and Lorraine McIntosh
Lorraine McIntosh of Deacon Blue picks her Tracks of My Years with more japes and scrapes from the PopMaster Music Quiz.
Lorraine McIntosh of the band Deacon Blue chooses the Tracks of My Years. She co-founded the band in 1985 with lead singer and now husband Ricky Ross, releasing their debut album 'Raintown' in 1987. Their second album 'When the World Knows Your Name' topped the UK Albums Chart for two weeks and included 'Real Gone Kid' which became their first top ten single in the UK Singles Chart. As of 2012, Deacon Blue's total album sales stood at six million with twelve UK top 40 singles along with two UK number one albums.
The band's latest album 'Riding On The Tide Of Love', was recorded in lockdown last year and is the companion album to β€City Of Loveβ€ - their ninth studio album - released in December 2020. The former was recorded piece by piece going into the studio one by one to record their individual parts and features eight brand new songs all released at the beginning of this month.
When she's not performing in the band, Lorraine likes to follow her other love which is acting. In 2002 she played the character Alice Henderson in the Scottish soap opera 'River City' and also appeared in a few films including Ken Loach's 'My Name Is Joe' and Lone Sherfig's 'Wilbur Wants To Kill Himself', as well as in three episodes of the popular TV police drama 'Taggart'.
The band hope to go on tour this June starting in Brighton and ending at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow in December.
The next two tracks Lorraine has chosen come from Jackson Browne and Glen Campbell.
Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus another round of PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
