Special operations paramedics Mark and Leigh are called to a car crash in Livingstone where a patient needs to be fully immobilised after complaining of neck pain, before racing to Fife to assist the coastguard after reports of a missing person at sea.
It’s the end of an era for paramedic Gary and technician Pete, who are working their last shift together after three and a half years. They are called to a patient in Barrhead who has been coughing up blood and needs urgent assessment.
In Edinburgh, rapid response paramedic John is called to a patient with back pain who is reluctant to go to hospital, while in the Borders, paramedics Christine and Mike battle treacherous weather conditions to transfer a patient for a life-saving operation.
And Jamie and Stuart in Inverness are called to a non-responsive patient who needs treatment in hospital, while in Glasgow, paramedics help a patient struggling to breathe.
