Barbara Dickson in Conversation

Bruce MacGregor speaks to Barbara Dickson about her folk roots.

Barbara Dickson became a household name in the 1970's when she appeared on prime time Saturday night telly with The Two Ronnies. She went on to sell millions of records and be a West End star. However, it all began in her local folk club in Dunfermline - and later in Edinburgh - where she learnt songs from source singers such as Jimmy MacBeath and Jeannie Robertson. In this special edition of Travelling Folk, we mark 50 years of her recording career and the launch of her 25th studio album. Bruce hears about her deep passion for and knowledge of folk song, and how she is drawn back to the tradition she came from.
