DWP Debt Collection, Electric Cars, Skateboarding

TV presenter James May tells us what he's learnt from six years of driving electric cars. Skateboarding has been popular this year, with a big increase in women doing it.

We investigate complaints from people who say it's impossible to contact the Department of Work and Pensions about mysterious debt letters. The letters tell people they owe money but often don't explain why, and give a phone number to contact to discuss repayment. Many people have reported that the line cuts off without you being able to speak to anyone, despite repeated attempts.
Electric car sales doubled in the last year, and pure electric now make up over 5% of new car sales. Six years ago we spoke to James May about his first electric car, at the time he felt the price meant it was still a bit of an experiment. We catch up with the TV presenter and motoring journalist, to talk about what he's learned from owning and driving several different EV models since then.
Skateboarding is one of the many sports that has benefited from people having more time on their hands this year. During lockdown many specialist shops sold out of skateboards and struggled to get hold of new stock. According to Skateboard England, around 750,000 people regularly skateboard in the UK, but this year the number of women participating has increased by 25%. We speak to a woman who took up skateboarding for the first time this year, and pro skateboarder Lucy Adams.
