Chrissie Hynde, lead singer of The Pretenders, picks her final Tracks of My Years in an interview first aired in 2014. It was at the time she released her debut solo album 'Stockholm' which featured Canadian musician Neil Young and former tennis champion John McEnroe among her collaborators. The American singer songwriter originally formed the band in 1978 with Pete Farndon, James Honeyman-Scott and Martin Chambers. She has also released a number of songs with other artists including Frank Sinatra, Cher and UB40. She performed at Live Aid in 1985 famously organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine. The unforgettable event was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London and the John F Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia. In 2005 Chrissie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Pretenders.

Earlier this year the band released their eleventh studio album 'Hate For Sale' which was produced by Stephen Street and is the first album to be written collaboratively by Chrissie and guitarist James Walbourne. The universally acclaimed album recently charted inside the top 30 in the UK album charts, the band's highest chart position since 1994.

In September the band featured in the star-studded line-up of Radio 2's Live At Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ normally entitled Live in Hyde Park but due to the pandemic artists had to appear separately. It didn't take away anything from the superb performances including the likes of Erasure, The Killers, Craig David, McFly and John Legend to name but a few.

The final two tracks Chrissie has chosen come from Hot Chocolate and Bob Dylan. Ken also has the daily love song, a tune that is New to 2 and the PopMaster Music Quiz. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
