House Music with Amy Macdonald

Amy Macdonald performs an exclusive lockdown session from East London as part of the House Music season. She'll be singing two songs, one from her brand new album 'The Human Demands' and the other a previous hit as you've never heard it before. Amy first found fame in 2007 with her debut album 'This Is The Life' which reached number one in four European countries selling three million copies worldwide. She joined Ken in Glasgow last year on the second stop of his UK PopMaster Tour singing live in the middle of a listener's workplace as the entire staff downed tools to take part in the legendary music quiz. Previous House Music sessions include singing superstar Barry Manilow live from his home in Palm Springs, Nell Bryden from New York, Richard Marx from Malibu, Kelly Clarkson from Montana and Jason Mraz from San Diego.

Taylor Swift, Grammy award winning singer songwriter, chooses the Tracks of My Years in an interview first aired in 2011. At the time she had recently released her third studio album 'Speak Now' written entirely by herself as the follow up to 'Fearless' and described as a loose concept album about confessions. Earlier this year Taylor released her eighth studio album 'Folklore' which marked a departure from the upbeat pop sound of the singer's previous albums to mellow tunes driven by piano and guitar. It was all written in isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic and went on to sell two million copies in its first week globally.

The next two tracks Taylor has chosen come from James Morrison and The Script. Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
