Shortlisted for a National Book Award in the US, it's the story of a middle class family on holiday in a remote, beautiful house in Long Island, but their idyllic peace is broken by a knock at the door and news of a blackout across the region.
The novel explores prescient themes around parenthood, race, and class and what happens when our twenty four seven access to information disappears.
