Episode 8 of 16

Yvonne and Julian learn about a deaf adventurer on a mission to complete all the Munro tops in Scotland, explore the Where’s the Interpreter campaign and experience life as a farmer.

Yvonne and Julian report from their studio in the heart of Bristol.

In this episode of See Hear, there is a running theme - the great outdoors. First, Yvonne and Julian hear about David Thompson who has scaled the 260 Munros in Scotland - a challenge that has spanned over 37 years! David has now set himself a new challenge - to complete all the Munro tops.

From one challenge to another, Aimee Campbell-Nottage learns about the Where’s the Interpreter campaign that started in light of the absence of BSL interpreters at Boris Johnson’s Covid-19 briefings. She interviews Lynn Stewart-Taylor, fresh from her walk from Gloucester to London to raise awareness for the campaign.

Yvonne is back in a kitchen but this time she has company in the shape of a keen cook, Leah Michaelides. Leah shows Yvonne to make fasolia - a Cypriot speciality - following an old family recipe that has been passed down the generations.

Last but not least, and in keeping with the theme of the great outdoors, Yvonne and Julian get an insight into the home life of Mia Ward, a well-known actress and presenter. Few know that Mia runs a farm with her wife Lara, and she invites See Hear to spend the day with her - social distanced, of course!
