Robert Moore's family have farmed in the townland of Molenan for 200 years. Located just outside Derry and just half a mile from the Donegal border, Robert believes exiting the E.U can provide a good opportunity to look again at the supply chain linking produce to consumers, and that improvements to that supply chain could help create a sustainable food system for all that is also beneficial to the environment.

Robert believes we need to move on from the era of the Common Agricultural Policy, creating a more efficient system that allows farmers to earn a wage while also reducing waste and practicing environmentally friendly methods, so long as they are commerical viable. In a world where the global population is expected to reach 10 billion by 2050, Robert says we need to be realistic about the role commercial and intensive farming will have to play - and that organic farming alone cannot feed the world. If a sustainable food system can be created that benefits both farmers and consumers, then it will also benefit the environment.
