Yorkshireman Danny Willett mastered the final-day wind and rain at the same venue in 2019 to earn a three-shot triumph and a Β£900,000 cheque. This year, he is aiming to become the first player since Luke Donald in 2012 to retain the coveted title.

However, the likes of Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose are among the world-class opponents vying to add their names to those of illustrious past winners such as Rory McIlroy, Colin Montgomery, Seve Ballesteros and record four-time champion Nick Faldo.
