Two hours of music and conversation with a faith and ethical perspective. Taking the week's events to ask what they say about our values and beliefs.

At a time when we are having to be careful about touch and physical space, how do those who rely on these things stay safe through this pandemic? Â鶹ԼÅÄ Journalist and Â鶹ԼÅÄ Ouch Podcast Producer Emma Tracey, and CEO of Glasgow Disability Alliance Tressa Burke join Connie to discuss how we can make the world more accessible for those with sensory impairments.

We hear the second in our Tuscaloosa reports looking back at the city’s role in the American civil rights movement. Internationally-renowned singer Andrea Baker takes us through stories from the march for justice lead by led by Rev. T. Y Rogers on June 9th in 1964, a protest against segregated drinking fountains and restrooms in the county courthouse, which lead to violence and unrest.

Author Esther Woolfson joins Connie to talk about her book ‘Between Light and Storm’ in which she explores the full range of our interactions with animals and raises questions around the idea of ‘owning’ animals or keeping pets at all.

October is Black History Month, and this year more than many other years it takes on an extra resonance. But does a month dedicated to marking Black History serve its purpose? Shouldn’t Black culture be celebrated all year round or does it help focus minds on issues that are sometimes ignored or dismissed? Joining Connie is Claire Heuchan, an award-winning blogger on Black Radical Feminism and Yahya Barry, Edinburgh-based Senior Researcher in African Studies with the University of Copenhagen.

Coach and author Emma J Bell has spoken to people who’ve lost family members in horrific circumstances, even to those who’ve been in midst of horror themselves, and from this, she believes she’s found the blueprint for how we might grow from adversity.

1968 was a turbulent year for the United States: Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, Robert F. Kennedy was shot and killed and the Vietnam War was raging with over 30,000 American casualties and 1,000 more U.S. troops killed each month. The arrest of seven prominent protest leaders would go down as one of the most bizarre trials in American history. The Trial of the Chicago 7 is now a Netflix Original Film and Connie chats with Ellen Galford who was in America at the time.
