Celebrating the making of classic blues documentary 'The Blues' which co-creator Ann Charters made alongside her husband, the celebrated ethnomusicologist Sam Charters. The film charts a journey made by the couple in 1962 to track down some of the bluesmen they admired and includes footage of Pink Anderson, Sleepy John Estes, and Furry Lewis among others.
The film never saw a commercial release and following a recent chance encounter has now been repackaged by Document Records to include an interview with Sam and Ann Charters. Here, Ann shares her memories of some of the bluesmen they encountered on that journey.
