The return of House Music - Roachford performs

Roachford performs with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra from his home in London as part of Radio 2 House Music. Plus Don Black chooses two more songs in Tracks Of My Years.

Roachford, British singer songwriter, performs from his home in London as part of Radio 2 House Music. He'll be accompanied by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra doing a special version of his recent single 'Love Remedy' plus his classic 1989 hit 'Cuddly Toy'. Last month he released a brand new album 'Twice In A Lifetime' and has big plans for a European tour starting in May 2021. Born Andrew Roachford in 1965, the singer was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2019 for services to music. Previous House Music sessions include singing superstar Barry Manilow live from his home in Palm Springs, Nell Bryden from New York, Richard Marx from Malibu, Kelly Clarkson from Montana and Jason Mraz from San Diego.

Plus Don Black, the legendary lyricist who presents his final Radio 2 show on Sunday night, chooses All New Tracks of My Years. His work has received numerous awards internationally, in 2007 he was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and in 1999 he was awarded the OBE. He is also the recipient of an Oscar, two Tonys, a Golden Globe and five Ivor Novello Awards.

Earlier in the year Don released his memoir 'The Sanest Guy in the Room' . The book reveals the essence of Don's craft and his own personal milestones, looks at those who have inspired him and tries to convey what made those icons tick. It is also a poignant love letter to Don’s late wife, Shirley; the person with whom he shared his life for over sixty years. The next two tracks he's chosen come from Chas & Dave and Michael Buble.
