29/09/20: New coalition on food standards; Seaweed farm; UK pasta flour

Anna Hill finds out about a new coalition which has been set up to scrutinise food standards in post-Brexit trade deals.

A new coalition has been set up, with the aim of scrutinising the UK's approach to food standards in post-Brexit trade deals. It's made up of farming groups, public health practitioners, caterers and food and animal welfare experts. But there is already a Trade and Agriculture Commission, so why do we need another organisation? Anna Hill talks to the chair of the new coalition to find out.

All this week, Farming Today is looking at seaweed. In today's programme, we visit a seaweed farm in Fife and find out why it's there's a growing demand for it.

We meet the farmer who's made it his mission to create pasta from wheat that can be grown here in the UK. Pasta is normally made from durum wheat, which is difficult to grow here.

Presented by Anna Hill and produced for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Audio in Bristol by Emma Campbell.
