Episode 4
Gloucestershire police search for two vulnerable drug users. One hasn't been seen on the streets for two months, while the other has left hospital against his doctors’ advice.
Most people who go missing are reported to police within a few hours, but for those who live on the streets, it isn’t always so straightforward.
Thirty-seven-year-old Aaron hasn’t been seen for two months and is reported missing by the Gloucester homeless healthcare centre that usually treats him. Officers scour the streets and homeless shelters of Gloucester but can find no trace of him. The town’s rough sleepers know him well, but no one has any idea what may have happened to him. Aaron is known to be a class A drug user, and although he has a sister, she has been unable to help him.
It’s not long before another drug user is added to the missing persons priority list. James, of no fixed address, has discharged himself from hospital against medical advice. Fears quickly mount that if he uses heroin, it could kill him. Furthermore, he has money on him and may be exploited by other drug users. Police launch an urgent search operation to try to track him down.
