Peter Jackson with cricketer Roger Davis

Welsh cricketer Roger Davis says he’s lucky to be alive after a passing doctor saved him.

Roger Davis completed a remarkable hat-trick in the cause of Welsh cricket. He was the man who came closest to ruining Garfield Sobers’ history-making six sixes feat at Swansea. He helped guarantee Glamorgan’s unbeaten county Championship win in 1969. And in an age where helmets were unheard of, he was told he had β€œdied” after being hit on the head at point-blank range by a speeding cricket ball. Now he admits to Peter Jackson that a day doesn’t go by when he doesn’t wake up and consider he’s lucky to be alive.
