Alice Cooper and the Love Song

Alice Cooper selects his top tracks in an interview first broadcast in October 2017. There's the daily love song plus another round of PopMaster.

Alice Cooper, the legendary architect of shock-rock, chooses the Tracks of My Years with music from The Yardbirds and Eurythmics. His chat with Ken was first broadcast in 2017 and came at the time he was releasing his twentieth solo album entitled 'Paranormal'. It famously featured three tracks performed by the "classic" line-up of the Alice Cooper band - Neal Smith, Dennis Dunaway and Michael Bruce without Glen Buxton, who sadly died in 1997, plus Larry Mullen Jr. from U2, Roger Glover from Deep Purple, Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, Swedish songwriter and session guitarist Tommy Denander, Tommy Henriksen, Steve Hunter and more.

Born Vincent Damon Furnier in 1948, Alice's remarkable career spans over fifty years and continues to rattle the cages and undermine the status quo, surprising fans and exuding danger. His stage shows feature numerous props including pyrotechnics, guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, reptiles, baby dolls and duelling swords. He has drawn equally from horror films, vaudeville and garage rock to pioneer a macabre and theatrical brand of rock designed to shock. The current pandemic has put his love of touring on hold, but he hopes to return all things being well in 2021.

Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus another round of the hugely popular music quiz PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
