Join Mark Stephen and Euan McIlwraith as they look back on a visit they made to St Kilda in 2011. They meet the seasonal ranger on the island, hear about a project being undertaken by Glasgow School of Art, get up close to the famous St Kilda mouse and have an encounter with some great skuas.
Mark and Euan also take a trip to the Pentland Hills to meet Professor Des Thompson, principal advisor on science and biodiversity for Scottish Natural Heritage. Des tells them about his nature filled childhood, his progression into working with nature and how he sees the future environmentally.
They also indulge their love of sound by hearing from podcast curator, Eleanor McDowall who runs the Field Recordings podcast. Eleanor works with producers and artists from all over the world and plays examples of recordings from a street in Berlin and her local marshland in London
