Tiree is the most westerly island in the Inner Hebrides. Itβs approximately 12 miles long and five miles wide and has a population of around 650. Surrounded by sandy beaches and with an abundance of birds and wildlife, itβs a popular destination for summer visitors. The exposed location on the Atlantic also makes it a favourite place for windsurfers and the Tiree Wave Classic, the longest running professsional windsurfing event in the world, is held on the island every autumn.
Filmed over a six-month period in 2019, the series follow the stories of βTiristichβ, Tiree islanders, as we find out what itβs like to live and work on the island. Tiree watersports club is a big hit with youngsters on the island, Rhoda, Alastair and Iain take their lambs to the sale and Tiree musicians take centre stage at the Tiree Music Festival.
