Phil Collins and PopMaster
Phil Collins chooses his final Tracks of My Years from an interview first broadcast in 2016. There's the daily love song and another nail-biting round of PopMaster.
Phil Collins, best known as the drummer/singer of the rock band Genesis and for his hugely successful solo career, chooses his final Tracks of My Years from an interview first broadcast in 2016. Between 1982 and 1990, Collins scored three UK and seven US number-one singles in his solo career. When his work with Genesis, his work with other artists, as well as his solo career is totalled, he had more US Top 40 singles than any other artist during the 1980s. His most successful singles from the period include "In the Air Tonight", "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)", "One More Night", "Sussudio", "Two Hearts", "A Groovy Kind of Love" (featured in the film Buster), "I Wish It Would Rain Down" and "Another Day in Paradise".
In May 2015, Collins signed a deal with Warner Music Group to have his solo albums remastered and reissued with previously unreleased material. In October of that year, he announced that he was no longer retired and had started plans to tour and make a new album. By mid-2016, all eight of his albums were reissued with the artwork updated to display Collins as his older self, the exception being Going Back, which had a new cover. He talks about this with Ken and hints at what he has planned for the future. His final two chosen tracks come from The Animals and One Republic.
Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus another round of PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
