Ruqsana Begum - Born Fighter

Jason Mohammad meets Ruqsana Begum, who smashed stereotypes and overcame many hurdles to become a Muay Thai world champion.

His guest is Ruqsana Begum, the first British Muslim woman to become a Muay Thai world champion. Ruqsana grew up in East London, part of a large Bangladeshi community and kept her passion for kickboxing and fighting secret for years. An arranged marriage and a breakdown led to her telling her family about her passion and talent. In spite of a medical diagnosis which would have stopped many, Ruqsana tells Jason how she triumphed in a world where too few look like her.
