As Sir Tom Jones reaches his 80th birthday, friend and fellow performer Cerys Matthews asks him about the music that has shaped his life and career. In an intimate conversation recorded remotely during lockdown, Sir Tom shares with Cerys the most meaningful songs that have influenced him throughout his life, from his early days in Pontypridd, through his remarkable career, which has not yet reached its peak.
Over two hour-long episodes we hear the songs that he has chosen as a nostalgic musical diary and discover what it was about the music and performances that so inspired him. Weaved into his choice of music are answers to questions about his up-bringing in a Welsh valley and significant moments from his adult life.
