Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Alexander Armstrong

Beautiful sounds to start your Sunday. Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason plays live and Alexander Armstrong shares his love of choral music.

Beautiful sounds to kickstart your Sunday. Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason plays live and Alexander Armstrong joins Rev Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad for a chat about his love of choral music.

Also on the show, the outgoing Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, catches up with Kate and Jason on the eve of his retirement. It's Pentecost Sunday, so the Archbishop will be reflecting on the 'Birthday of the Church', his hopes for the future and talking about his love of music.

Continuing the theme, comedian, 'Pointless' presenter and singer Alexander Armstrong shares his musical passion for choral music. He was a choirboy in Edinburgh and is a classically trained bass baritone, he tells Kate and Jason about his involvement in a recent 'virtual choral evensong' and how music can help us through difficult times.

And Sheku Kanneh-Mason's popularity went stratospheric after playing at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding in 2018. The cellist has been locked down with his musical family during the Covid-19 pandemic, we find out how they've got on as he plays live for us from his living room!
