The Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove, has insisted primary schools will be safe when some pupils in England return at the beginning of June although he says the risk can't be completely eliminated. But many teachers and parents have expressed safety concerns, in particular over maintaining social distancing. There are also worries that if children don't return to school soon, pupils from more disadvantaged backgrounds will fall even further behind.
