Glow Up!'s Dominic Skinner, Krysty Wilson-Cairns, Tamsin Calidas

Janice speaks to Glow Up! judge Dominic Skinner, Scottish screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns, and author Tamsin Calidas. Plus the best board games for families at home together.

Glow Up! Britain’s Next Make Up Star returns for series two on Thursday. The make-up competition, hosted by Stacey Dooley, sees ten aspiring make-up artists compete, and the first series was a surprise hit last year. Dominic Skinner, one of the charismatic judges, joins Janice to talk about the talent we’ll be wowed by and the new challenges set for this year’s intake of MUAs.

Scottish screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns was this week announced as co-writer of a new Star Wars film. We’ll have another chance to hear her interview with Siobhan Synnot where they discussed the film for which she was Oscar-nominated this year, 1917, which was partly shot in Glasgow.

Janice talks to travel journalist in lockdown Toby Skinner about how he’s finding opportunities to travel time and space from the comfort of his flat.

Writer Tamsin Calidas talks about I Am An Island, her memoir of life on a Hebridean island where it’s fair to say things didn’t go the way she’d anticipated.

Bored children in the house? Never fear: tabletop games journalist Owen Duffy will be taking us through a selection of brilliant board games for families.

And we’ll hear how Scottish Women’s Aid is making a difference to those at increased risk of domestic violence at this time.
