See Hear makes history in this episode as the first programme in the series to be filmed remotely. From their respective homes, Yvonne and Julian present user-generated content, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has taken over the world.

Lynn Stewart-Taylor learns more about the virus that has made the world stand still through an interview with microbiologist Clare Halliday. Lynn also learns more about how Covid-19 has impacted the lives of deaf people, such as Rachael Williams, who was stranded in India.

As part of Facetime’s ten-year anniversary celebrations, Fifi Garfield researches the history of video calling, which has revolutionised the lives of deaf people. In an interview with Bencie Woll, Fifi learns how technology has influenced and changed the signs that are used today.

Yvonne and Julian make the most of lockdown and use the time to pass on skills and tips to the viewers. Yvonne shows how a simple larder raid can produce yummy crepes with a lemon and blueberry filling, whilst Julian gives five tips on how to entertain and stimulate bored children stuck at home.

To kick off the run up to See Hear’s 40th birthday next year, the episode takes a trip down the memory lane with some of the best of See Hear. Today’s clip is from the very first episode, which was broadcast on 11 October 1981.

To round off the episode, Yvonne and Julian show an item that was filmed prior to lockdown - a profile on Thomas Paull, a deaf MMA fighter who has big, bold aspirations! Will he win his title fight?
