Streaming Film Reviews, Singer-songwriter, Ian Prowse and John Illsley of Dire Straits
Merseyside, singer-songwriter, Ian Prowse, Streaming Film Reviews and another chance to hear John Illsley of Dire Straits
Grant Stott catches up with Merseyside hero Ian Prowse: the guitarist, singer-songwriter, has a new solo album out and following his touring dates with Elvis Costello being cut short, has been adjusting to the peculiar situation that we all find ourselves in – we’ll hear tracks especially recorded, from his isolation-home-studio in Liverpool!
Grant will also be hosting our Streaming Film Review Hour: we’ll hear about The Assistant - Director Kitty Green's remarkable, piercing look at how women in the entertainment industry witness and experience sexual coercion and harassment.
The critically acclaimed Moffie – a remarkable story about a pair of conscripts who find love amid the chaos of Apartheid; a coming-of-age story centred on a gay protagonist, but set against the backdrop of 1980s South Africa.
And an absolute classic; the unforgettable Mean Streets!
He will also hear about how Giraffe Healthcare is providing its online physiotherapy platform FREE to UK NHS sites, charities, hospices and third sector organisations for at least the duration of the COVID-19 outbreak
All that and another chance to hear Grant in an extended, conversation, with John Illsley - the English musician who rose to fame as bass guitarist with the acclaimed, and internationally successful, Dire Straits; with Dire Straits, John has been the recipient of multiple BRIT and Grammy Awards and a Heritage Award. As one of the founding band members, with Mark Knopfler, he played a major role in the development of the Dire Straits’ sound and will look back over his remarkable career in music.
