Mozart in Munich
Mozartβs Symphony No 39 and Mass in C minor, performed by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Herbert Blomstedt.
Presented by Fiona Talkington
For the great nonagenarian conductor Herbert Blomstedt, conducting βis a good profession to grow old in, because itβs always a challenge, and you need challenges when you get older.β And in this concert, he continues his longstanding collaboration with the magnificent Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in a programme full of challenges. With Mozart, as Blomstedt says, βyou have to articulate very precisely and canβt rely on power and impact.β
