Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔless In Lockdown; Food Prices; Bird Seed Sales

The naturalist Chris Packham on why sales of bird seed are soaring.

Since the Coronavirus lockdown more that five thousand people living in hostels, night shelters or on the streets in England have been found a place to stay. It's after the government told Councils to house people as soon as possible to help tackle the virus. We'll hear from one homeless man who's staying at the YMCA, and speak to the charity Crisis about how this might change homelessness policy moving forward.

We'll take a look at what's been going on with food prices, amid reports that they've been rising during the lockdown. We'll speak to the Grocer magazine who monitors prices on 33 different items each week, and get reaction from the supermarkets.

And businesses that make and sell bird food are reporting a huge surge in demand online. The Pet Food Manufacturers Association says some of its members have had temporarily close their online shops because they couldn't cope with the level of orders coming in. Others say they're busier than they've ever been.
We'll hear from the Naturalist and Broadcaster Chris Packham.
