Cello fantasies
Andrew McGregor presents Russian cellist Anastasia Kobekina and pianist Jean-Selim Abdelmoula in cello sonatas by Debussy and Paul Juon, plus Schumann's Fantasy Pieces.

The young Russian cellist Anastasia Kobekina is a current Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3 New Generation Artist and, today, she is joined by Jean-SΓ©lim Abdelmoula, a rising star in his own right both as a pianist and composer. Alongside two much-loved classics, Debussy's Cello Sonata and Schumann's Fantasy Pieces, their programme features a Fairy Tale and a Cello Sonata by the Russian-born, Swiss composer Paul Juon (1872-1940), who was widely admired in his day and is currently being rediscovered.
