Huey Lewis picks his Tracks of My Years

Huey Lewis, lead singer of Huey Lewis and the News, picks his Tracks of My Years. Plus Ken has another round of the PopMaster music quiz.

Huey Lewis, lead singer of Huey Lewis and the News, picks his Tracks of My Years with music from Thin Lizzy and Elvis Costello. Huey aka Hugh Anthony Cregg III was born in New York but raised in Marin County, California. Huey Lewis and the News were formed in 1979 and became one of the biggest rock bands of the 80s. They had three hit albums in the UK – Sports, Fore! and Small World and, of course, the hit song The Power of Love was featured in the classic film β€œBack to The Future” where Huey also had a cameo role.

During the 1980s they had a string of hit singles on both sides of the Atlantic including – 'Do You Believe In Love,' 'The Heart Of Rock & Roll,' 'I Want A New Drug,' and 'If This Is It'. Huey Lewis and the News have sold over 30 million albums, topped numerous charts, earned Grammy wins and Oscar nominations.
This year sees the issue their first album of new material since 2001 – Weather. During the recording of the album Huey was diagnosed with MΓ©niΓ¨re's disease - an illness that led to his hearing loss. He remains philosophical – β€œYou’ve got to look of the bright side and stay creative. Even if I never sing again, things could always be worse. After all, I’m deaf, not dead."

Ken Bruce also has another round of the legendary PopMaster music quiz and your dedications with today's love song. There's also the record and album of the week.
