Joanne Shaw Taylor
Joanne Shaw Taylor reveals her Rock God and Johnnie focuses on the break up of one of the 21st Century's biggest rock bands for 'This Week In Rock'.
These days, guitarist and singer Joanne Shaw Taylor is based in Detroit. Her roots lie in the Black Country, where she lived and fell in love with the guitar as a young girl. Her choice of Rock God reflects her Midlands upbringing and she chooses a track from her Rock God which we reckon hasn't been played on national radio in quite a while. Joanne was due to tour the UK but like many, has been affected by the current Coronavirus situation. She recently released a new EP, 'Reckless Blues' from which Johnnie will play a track on the show. Elsewhere, expect some brand new Deep Purple and other choice new releases, plus classic cuts from the likes of Rush, The Who and Hawkwind. For 'This Week In Rock', Johnnie ventures back less than a decade, to the break-up of one of the 21st Century's biggest rock bands.
