Tigran Hamasyan and Mathias Eick in concert
Lyrical melodies and propulsive grooves from Armenian pianist Tigran Hamasyan and Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick. Plus saxophonist Tamar Collocutor on music that inspires her.
Julian Joseph presents an intimate duo concert from Armenian pianist Tigran Hamasyan and Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick. Together they explore lyrical folk melodies, atmospheric electronics and propulsive grooves.
Also in the programme saxophonist Tamar Osborn, leader of UK band Collocutor, shares some of the music that inspires her, including a cross-cultural masterpiece by Indo-jazz fusion group Shakti that has guided Collocutor’s own sonic exploration.
Produced by Dominic Tyerman for Somethin’ Else.
