Nicola Meighan hears how Ashley Storrie and Janey Godley have taken their comedy online, and celebrates classic movie West Side Story with music legend Bruce Findlay.

We hear from Ashley Storrie, who along with her mum Janey Godley, have taken their comedy online, and are live streaming on Facebook each night, on both of their Facebook fan pages. Keeping their spirits up and that of everyone watching. Twice daily half an hour streaming, drinking tea and giving us a wee window into their life, (including going a live jigsaw puzzle…!)
In the past few days we have heard the news that many arts, music and theatre venues have had to close their doors. However, the arts community in Scotland is nothing if not resilient and have found ways of getting their material to us. And to tell us where we can get our cultural fix and help alleviate the doom and gloom is Herald theatre and arts critic, Neil Cooper.
With the news that the schools are to close from today many will be looking for inspiration to entertain and keep families healthy and happy during these very strange and challenging times. Well help is at hand, we have just the person to lift your spirits and give you the inspiration you need to get outside if you and your children are able to do so. Wander Maw AKA Laura Stoop joins Nicola.
This Sunday night on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ 4 we’ll be able to gather round our tellies and sit back to enjoy a documentary celebrating West Side Story which is one of the best-loved musicals of all time, but why is it still so poignant today? Maybe it’s those iconic anthems of Maria and America, or that it addresses issues that are still very pertinent today. Well to answer these questions and more is the former manager of Simple Minds and all round music mogul and lovely man who grew up in the musicals hey- day, the legend that is that is Bruce Findlay! (who will also tell us about self isolating.)
We’ll hear what Nicola and her kids thought of film Spirited Away.
Lisa McGee’s Derry Girls series 3 is coming, supposedly this April, but in case the release is delayed we thought we’d revisit this hugely successful channel 4 TV series now, and who better to reminisce about the series thus far than our very own Derry Girl, Pauline Moore.
