Episode 7
Trixie helps a blind mother, Marion, care for her new baby, but trouble starts when Marion’s sister calls Social Services to intervene.
Dr Kevin McNulty performs his final supervision under Dr Turner but begins to show signs of strain as his shoulder injury flares up, and he secretly takes pethidine for the pain when he's alone in his office. Soon after, full of confidence, Kevin ambitiously tries to deliver a baby on his own. Sister Frances arrives just in time to see that Kevin's decision has put mother and baby in danger.
Trixie helps to prepare a blind mother, Marion, to care for her new baby, but Marion's sister, Beryl, calls Social Services to intervene. Beryl feels very strongly that Marion's blindness will prevent her from caring properly for her baby, even with the support of her husband Stewart. Once the baby is born, it's clear that Marion cannot cope without outside help. Trixie hopes she can find a way for Marion and Stewart to keep their baby.
