Film reviews, Twin Atlantic, Gill Hornby and Pride and Prejudice* (*Sort of)
Film reviews, including A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood starring Tom Hanks, plus a boisterous new re-working for the stage of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
Thursday is, as usual, film review day so we’ll be discussing three big films out this week: Tom Hanks in A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, couple-on-the-run drama Queen & Slim and the Clint Eastwood-directed Richard Jewell
We’re focusing on modern-day Jane Austen in the first hour of the show today, with the director and cast of Pride and Prejudice* (*Sort Of), currently at The Royal Lyceum in Edinburgh, plus writer Gill Hornby discussing her new novel Miss Austen, a feminist rethink of Jane Austen which shines a light on Cassandra Austen, Jane’s beloved sister.
And Twin Atlantic talk to Grant as they prepare for their gig in Glasgow tonight, where they’ll be performing tracks from their new album, Power.
