Jennifer Hudson
Rev Kate Bottley meets Jennifer Hudson to find out about the star-studded movie adaptation of Cats and the importance of her faith to her success and how she's death with tragedy.
Jennifer Hudson is one of the superstars in the new movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Cats. She tells Kate about the extraordinary film, how the A-list cast became feline and how it felt taking on one of the biggest songs from the musicals, 'Memory'. Jennifer had an incredible rise to fame and glory after appearing on American Idol, going on to win an Oscar, but her life has also been beset by tragedy, losing three family member, including her mother to a violent attack. She tells Kate how important her Christian faith is in her life.
Plus as we look ahead to the New Year as resolutions are being set, we meet Toni Vernelli, one of the people behind Veganuary. They support people who want to try out a vegan diet for January and beyond, we find out why more and more of us are interested in trying out a more plant-based diet.
Plus our Charity Champions will be in the middle of the Atlantic! The Oarsome Foursome are 4 women from the South-West (3 in the boat, 1 on land!) are currently taking part in one of the hardest rowing races in the world to raise money for local charities. They have been sponsored by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and will brave 40ft waves and circling sharks. And an interview live on Radio 2!
