Justin Hawkins from the Darkness chooses his favourite records with Ken Bruce. The Darkness were formed in Lowestoft, Suffolk by brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins in 2000. The bands early years were spent performing rock covers in local pubs and clubs - they soon had a name as a flamboyant stage act. Their first album " "Permission To Land" sold over 1.3 million copies and they came to prominence over the Christmas of 2003 with their battle for a Christmas number one with "Christmas Time( Don't Let the Bells End)" - they achieved a number two spot - losing out to "Mad World" by Michael Andres and Gary Jules. In 2004 the band won 3 BRIT awards - Best British Group, Best British Rock Act and Best British Album. In 2019 they released their sixth album "Easter Is Cancelled" and are currently touring the UK. Justin's tracks include music by Led Zeppelin, Radiohead and AC/DC.
